Still Alive Lady Quote (1)

"Boys, there are three types of people in this world: People who talk about things, people who talk about other people, and people who talk about ideas. Unless you want to be simpleton or a fool, you will talk about ideas." – Momma G, relayed to two G sons whenever we boarded the gossip train in the years between 1989 and 2001.

Your terrific writing requires me to modify the family rule: you cannot talk about other people, but you can write about them! (particularly if the "them" are your wonderful fellow soldiers and the intriguing characters you meet along the way - Tee Hee!). Love you!

Uh oh! After reading Anonymous's addendum to his comment regarding the Kennedy quote, it occurs to me that I may need to further "frago" the Mom advice since there may not be much of a difference between "gossip" and the type of "intelligence" or "tip" that causes you all to believe an insurgent may be sleeping at a particular location. I'm not saying to ignore all previous "words of wisdom" I imparted over the years. But, I am saying, not for the first time, that I trust your situational awareness in adhering to such! I'm sorry!

There are three kinds of people in this world: Those who can count, and those who can't.
