Making the Kids Smile

PFC Das Boot attempts to fly a kite in the Iraqi breeze. Hilarity ensues. Narration - and tough NCO-style mentorship - by SSG Boondock.

Didn't have a long enough tail.

Kite needs a tail, LT.

I'm kind of surprised at SSG Boondock channeling Tim Gunn from Project Runway with his "make it work" comment. Interesting to learn that's his kind of a show.

Oh, such a tiny little kite!! Shame he couldn't do a little better run with it, but he was sweet to try.
Thanks for the smile.

"Making the Kids Smile" What a great quote from SSG Boondock. And kudos to PFC Da Boot for trying to make that sorry ass kite work.

Gravediggers Rock; Over.

1)you need a larger kit
2)Add a tail for a bit of “drag”
3)Have someone hold the kite, run out the string about 40-50 feet, and now run, if you have any kind of wind at all, you will be flying.

Have fun now. ;-)

kit = kite

Yup- you'd keep Tim Gunn busy in the sartorial advice department. But you've given me an idea about what to send along in care pkges to the troops: gliders & kites......damn, open sewers make for soggy flying machines....the OTHER thing I GOTTA know, being a gearhead: (if it aint TOP SEKRIT!!) is that rectangular object hanging from the boom on the front of yer most excellant Ghost Tank. have we gone back to the "spar torpedo" as used on the Confederate Submarine Hunley? bin for dirty socks? what????

Ahh, yes. Nothing like an old fashioned round of abuse to take ya back.

I was thinking, he could have run across that field, but it was probably mined.

The whole thing is so ironically apt.

Hey Lt G...maybe PFC Das Boot & SSG Boondock shoulda asked those ChAir Force Engineers for advice on how to build a better kite...who knows maybe then they would have been able to make it work. At least it would have looked a lot more like a real kite! LOL! Love to the Gravediggers; keep the kites flyn' & stay safe.
